Steel Downpipe Connector – Ø90, RAL 7016, RAL 9005 & Aluzinc
The connector joins one length of Ø90 downpipe to the next. Pipe is supplied in 3 metre lengths, so any elevation taller than that is built up in sections, and this fitting closes each joint between them.
A downpipe joint has an easier job than a gutter joint – water is falling straight through it rather than sitting in it – but it still has to stay aligned. The connector holds both pipe ends concentric so the run stays vertical and true down the wall, and keeps water inside the pipe rather than letting it track down the outside face and stain the render or brickwork below.
It is pressed from the same coated steel as the pipe and finished to match, so the joints read as part of the run rather than as a line of collars down the elevation.
What this connector works with
This fitting suits Ø90 steel downpipe. A complete downpipe run generally needs:
- Ø90 downpipe, 3 m – the pipe lengths themselves
- Gutter funnel Ø130/90 – the outlet where water leaves the gutter and enters the pipe
- Ø90 elbows – usually a pair, to set the pipe back from the eaves to the wall face
- Ø90 downpipe brackets – to fix the pipe to the wall at regular intervals
- Ø90 spout – to finish the pipe at the bottom and throw water clear of the wall
- Ø90 rainwater catcher – where you want to divert water into a butt

How many do you need?
One connector for every joint between pipe lengths – always one fewer than the number of lengths in an uninterrupted run. A two-storey elevation using two 3 m lengths needs one. Elbows and other fittings form their own joints, so count those separately. Send us the height of your elevation and we will work the quantities out for you.

Available in RAL 7016 anthracite grey, RAL 9005 jet black and Aluzinc, matched to the downpipe, brackets, gutter and fittings in the same range. Other RAL shades can be supplied to order – contact us for availability.
