Description

Steel Spout – Ø90, RAL 7016, RAL 9005 & Aluzinc

The spout finishes the downpipe at the bottom. Fitted to the foot of the run, it turns the flow outward and throws water clear of the wall – into a gully, a soakaway, a channel or a water butt – rather than letting it run straight down onto the ground at the base of the brickwork.

That last half metre matters more than its cost suggests. Water discharged directly against a wall saturates the ground beside the foundations, splashes soil and staining up the lower courses, and in cold weather freezes where people walk. A spout directs it away from the building, which is the whole point of the system.

It is the standard finish where the downpipe is not connected into below-ground drainage. The spout is pressed from the same coated steel as the pipe and finished to match the rest of the run.

What this spout works with

This fitting suits Ø90 steel downpipe. A complete downpipe run generally needs:

  • Ø90 downpipe, 3 m – the pipe lengths themselves
  • Gutter funnel Ø130/90 – the outlet where water leaves the gutter and enters the pipe
  • Ø90 elbows – usually a pair, to set the pipe back from the eaves to the wall face
  • Ø90 downpipe connectors – one at each joint between pipe lengths
  • Ø90 downpipe brackets – to fix the pipe to the wall, with one close above the spout
  • Ø90 rainwater catcher – an alternative finish where you want to divert water into a butt while letting the overflow continue down the pipe

How many do you need?

One spout for each downpipe that discharges above ground. Runs that connect directly into below-ground drainage do not need one. Fit a bracket just above the spout so the outlet is held firm – it sits at the height where people and equipment are most likely to catch it. Send us your roof layout and we will work out what each run needs.
