Right Hand Cut
Tin Snips – Right Cut
The Tin Snips – Right Cut are practical hand-cutting tools designed for trimming metal roofing panels, flashings and other compatible sheet-metal components.
Unlike powered cutting tools, the snips create a cold cut, helping preserve the protective coating around the cut edge. This makes them particularly suitable for coated metal roofing and cladding products where excessive heat could damage the surface finish.
The snips are available in two cutting-direction options:
- Left-Hand Cut: designed to produce a cut towards the left-hand side.
- Right-Hand Cut: designed to produce a cut towards the right-hand side.
Selecting the appropriate cutting direction helps provide better control when following curved lines, trimming corners and working around detailed roof or flashing profiles. Both versions can also be used for general trimming and controlled straight cuts where suitable.
The compact hand-operated design makes the snips convenient for use during standing-seam roofing, metal tile, box-profile, cladding and flashing installation. No electrical power is required, making them suitable for both workshop preparation and on-site adjustments.

- Position the sheet securely and insert the metal between the cutting blades.
- Cut gradually along the marked line using controlled, consistent pressure.
- Avoid closing the blades completely at the end of each stroke when making long cuts, as this can help reduce edge distortion.
Always wear suitable cut-resistant gloves and eye protection when cutting or handling sheet metal. Freshly cut metal edges may be extremely sharp. Check that the snips are suitable for the material type and thickness before use.
