Description

Steel Gutter Funnel – Ø130/90, RAL 7016, RAL 9005 & Aluzinc

The funnel is the outlet – the point where water leaves the gutter and drops into the downpipe. It fits into the gutter run wherever a downpipe comes down, tapering from the Ø130 gutter to the Ø90 pipe below and directing the whole flow of that run into it.

Its position decides how the roof drains. Everything the gutter collects has to reach a funnel, so the run is set to fall towards it, and a roof with long eaves or a large collecting area normally needs more than one. Get the number or placement wrong and the gutter backs up and overflows in heavy rain even though nothing is blocked.

The funnel is pressed from the same coated steel as the gutter and finished to match, so it sits in the run as part of the line rather than as a visible add-on.

What this funnel works with

This fitting connects Ø130 half-round steel gutter to Ø90 downpipe. A complete rainwater run generally needs:

  • Steel gutter, Ø130, 3 m – the runs themselves
  • Gutter connectors – at each joint between lengths, and where the funnel meets the gutter
  • Gutter brackets – fixed to the fascia, with one close to each side of the funnel
  • Stop end caps – to close the run where it terminates
  • 90° internal and external corners – one for each angle in the roof plan
  • Ø90 downpipe, 3 m – to carry the water down the wall
  • Ø90 elbows – usually a pair, to set the pipe back from the eaves to the wall face
  • Ø90 downpipe connectors and pipe brackets – to join and fix the pipe run
  • Ø90 spout or rainwater catcher – to finish the pipe at the bottom or divert water to a butt

How many do you need?

One funnel for every downpipe. As a rough guide, most domestic elevations need a downpipe at each end of a long run or one at a single low point on a shorter run, with the gutter falling towards it. Larger roof areas, steep pitches and regions with heavy rainfall need more. Send us your eaves lengths and roof area and we will work out how many outlets the roof should have.
